If you promote a database in Heroku:
Then the database URL in DbInsights is not automatically updated, nor are you notified that a change has happened. You can manually set the new DB URL in settings no trouble, but that requires you to realize what's happened.
In my case a collegue performed a required fast changeover, which resulted in out DbInsights data going stale.
If you can get this from Heroku, if might be nice to check it and throw up a flash if they don't match.1 vote
Thank you for your suggestion.
The only way DbInsights could know that the DATABASE_URL is not in sync anymore would be by requiring the user to provide her Heroku account API key (in order to be able to go check the application’s configuration variables).
However the Heroku account API key also gives a lot more permissions and since this is not strictly necessary for DbInsights, I think that would be too intrusive.
Ability for reference data to load from the database of known relationships.
For example Product belongs to Manufacturer
An order had many products
A graph on sales (orders table) by manufacturer.
A graph on sales (orders table) by product 5 best sellers this week
I don't want to type in n + reference data entries for products or manf.
I would like the tool to pull in for a given known relationship, the associated data (name)1 vote
